Maintain great dental hygiene

Despite our best efforts, cleaning those hard to reach places, like below the gum line, can be really difficult. This can cause a build-up of plaque, which can lead to bad breath, poor oral health, and other more serious problems in the future. A dental hygienist can help to combat these problems with a thorough deep clean of your teeth and gums, stain removal, polishing, and oral hygiene and dietary advice to keep your teeth healthy for life.

Freshen your breath with a dental hygiene treatment

Over time, our breath can pick up odours for a number of reasons, and it often happens so slowly that we’re unaware of what our breath smells like, and it can affect your personal and professional life. Bad breath is caused by a buildup of plaque and tartar (which is an accumulation of food and bacteria) and often a result of poor oral hygiene. To make sure your oral hygiene is in tip top shape, be sure to see a dental hygienist at least twice a year to remove any plaque and bacteria that may be trapped in those hard to reach places in your teeth and gums. After seeing a dental hygienist, you’ll notice the difference in the freshness of your mouth after seeing a hygienist.

Steer clear of gum disease

As well as bad breath, a buildup of plaque over a long period of time can have a more serious effect, resulting in inflammation, infection, and gum disease. Our gums not only support our teeth; they act as a protective seal, and work to prevent natural bacteria that lives in the mouth from reaching the jawbone below, which can lead to tooth loss. Gingivitis is the early stage of gum disease, but if left untreated, gum disease can cause the gums to retreat from the teeth, which removes this protective seal and allows space for the bacteria to enter.

We need to catch Gingivitis and treat it as early as possible, before it reaches the stage of gum disease! That’s why we recommend a thorough teeth cleaning routine at home, as well as regular dental hygiene appointments to ensure your teeth and gums remain healthy.

Watch out for the signs of gum disease

  • Bleeding gums when brushing your teeth
  • Red and inflamed or extremely sensitive gums
  • Bad breath

Brighten your smile with teeth whitening

Visiting the dental hygienist for a deep cleanse is great for your oral health, but most of us would also like our teeth to be whiter! Even with the greatest care, our teeth will start to naturally discolour as we age, due to the foods and drinks we consume, and lifestyle factors like smoking. Teeth Whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments in the UK because it can transform your smile and restore the whiteness of your teeth; boosting your confidence and giving you a fresh new look in a short amount of time and without any major cosmetic work.

Really happy to go these guys for checkups, hygienists, and I'm now starting invisalign with them. So far the process has really good, they are knowledgeable and really set my mind at ease about everything.
